The workplace is now becoming paperless thanks to advances in wireless technology and other computer systems. It now seems that the same technologies are entering our homes too. Already many people have advanced home entertainment systems which can be connected to computers and laptops without the need for cables. Even speakers do not require cables any longer.
Advances in technology in recent years mean that we are now entering the wireless revolution. The so-called digital revolution has long passed with most home appliances now using electronic digital displays. These advances in technology are being accelerated because of the demand for more feature-packed, miniature portable electronic devices. The most obvious example is the mobile phone and more specifically, smartphones.
Items such as Apple's iPhone require highly complex technology in order to pack the maximum amount of features and applications into a slimline design. The design of this semiconductor technology is called System-in-Package. This basically allows for different components to be stacked vertically in to a very small package. It allows for faster development, lower design costs, and less complex circuitry.
These technologies mean that even appliances such as a washing machine will soon be fitted with wireless circuitry. This will allow manufacturers to service machines without having to visit the location. When a default is detected, it will automatically send a diagnostic report to the manufacturer, who can then decide on what action to take. There are more ways that this technology can be used with house appliance, as mentioned by The Telegraph.
These new advances in wireless semiconductor design will mean that all homes will have a central hard drive for all documents and home entertainment files. These can then be accessed from anywhere in the property and any where in the world where an internet connection is possible. This means that some documents or music files can be used and viewed from any location when required. This is thanks to new broadband connections options like 4G which has been featured in the New York Times.
These technologies are even making some household objects obsolete. For example many homes now have HDTVs which are usually very large. These TV screens will now be used for screening things other than movies and TV shows. For example people can now purchase a fireplace download in high-definition quality which looks as good as a real log fireplace.
Soon people will also be able to obtain scenes from around the world which will be viewed on the TV screen. This means that a large widescreen television can be used as a window to any location in the world. For example somebody may wish to show a video image of a rainforest, or a paradise island setting.
